1) build quality:
- The case of my Selphy CP810 was not locked, ok. I have refinished
- The USB port is so stiff and proper that some of my USB flash drives do not want to fit even by force. (OK is also so in the manual. "Depending on the type, it can be ...")
- The front cover projects beyond the edge of the housing and engages only weakly. Falls down when transporting alone.
2) Mobile - Operating:
- If you buy a compact printer of this size, one would like to use it sometimes mobile. There are as with the previous models, an optional battery pack, which is however no longer snapped to the housing. (Up CP800 was still so)
In the case of the CP810 even an adapter CG-CP200 is required in addition to the Battery Pack NB-CP2L (about 80 Euros) (about 100 euros !!!). The battery is then on the cable next to the device.
For mobile use, absolutely useless and cumbersome loading (either load or supply current printer, both is not)
- The printer is extremely sensitive to dust (according to the manual really only be used under clean room conditions).
- You need to make a printout of a straight, clean area of at least 20cm x 45 cm (!!). (Front of the rickety paper tray and backwards, the image is shifted out 4x). If the battery adapter is still lying next to it, of course correspondingly more. Canon are in the manual even 40 cm x 45 cm on.
- Print from camera phones via Bluetooth is no longer possible (When predecessors CP800 nevertheless still optional)
3) Operation:
- When printing mode "passport photo" must be preformatted the source image. The printer does not fit the image itself (for example, by 90 degrees turn). If the image is so present in the format portrait, you get 6x only the eyes and mouth.
- By default the power-saving mode, ie the printer goes quickly out again, if you do not use it. On restarting, the thermal transfer sheet is then first stretched and the pressure capacity of the tape is less. about 5 x switching = 1 lost image.
- When going off all settings are lost except for the language. Even the power saving mode is activated again.
- If a power failure occurs during printing and the paper is still inside the printer, Canon recommends for repair.
4) Print quality:
- The quality of the prints is really good. As a photo from the lab. However, the color rendering for my taste is a bit too cool.
5) Features:
- Canon has everything to save what was. No sample paper / cartridge, no dust cover back, no paper trays other than "Postcard", not a cleaning cartridge (but you should use it regularly), no USB cable (microUSB to USB) for PC connection, no carrying case. All optional re-purchaseable. Fully upgraded with battery / adapter (about 180, -) bag (about 30, -), starter Consumables (KP-108in about 30, -), dust behind (DPC-CP100 19, -), various paper containers ( 35, -), cleaning cartridge (about 15, -), printer cable (5, -) will cost the unit (about 100, -) then proud 414, - Euro !!!! This then could be print the first 100 photos for the equivalent 4.14 Euro / piece. (Unless a grain of dust makes the printer previously broken)
Conclusion: poorly equipped, ramshackle Toys for stationary applications, in full equipment far too expensive and no added value compared to the previous model CP800.
