Before I go on, what bothers me everything exactly, I would like first of all displaced in the role of those who give the game 4 or 5 star. Finally, the game has a very, very good graphics. An open and beautifully designed game world that invites you to explore, all there is to discover treasure chests, with hunting and gathering can pass the time. There are well-crafted scripted events, many vehicles with which you can even take part in races and various hostile camps, one can conquer weapons with a wide choice.
These are basically the perfect conditions for a masterpiece of gaming history, but unfortunately all these features do not form a great body of work but also act as unloving motley employment measures.
The vast game world is not therefore so great because they must be for the run of play, but only because Ubi Soft quite simply wanted to create a large game world. This is but from the same old blocks. Man comes into uncharted territory, climbing up a radio tower, thus covering another part of the map on, assumes the lying there camp, collects tons of rubbish a, met the same old hunting and bounty quests and massacres by the way the random rumstehenden opponents and the local wildlife from. And over and over again. The game does not change!
But I have asked myself fairly quickly why I still should uncover the rest of the map. A common incentive in RPGs is the desire for new and better items and the level rise. Although Far Cry is a first-person shooter, the game must still compare with RPGs. Because there is experience points with which you can invest to level up points in a skill tree and you can crafting objects collected animal skins and plants. A limitless number of boxes should also arouse the passion for collecting. These RPG elements but kept extremely simple and motivate zero. Thus one finds in the boxes only useless Krams, who is not even a lot of value. In addition, you can, crafting no meaningful objects up on healing syringes. Only bags are important, but they are designed by Ubi Soft purposely so small that the player is forced larger specimens to crafting. Great motivation ...
But even if one could ever find better items and crafting great rare weapons and armor, all that would not be necessary, because the game is so simple that you should get yourself to the weakest assault rifle no problems even on the highest difficulty. However, you have early in the game, the perfect equipment, because with money you will also showered so. The game is also so greatly simplified by flashing indications and waypoints that you can get the impression that Far Cry 3 is programmed only for incompetent game beginners.
The critically acclaimed story and atmosphere are weak in my eyes. The whole setting is unconvincing because the characters are interesting and there are many logic errors. No sooner have you taken an enemy camp, the flow allies in masses their new camp. Why this is not conquer the camp itself is not answered. The fact that you will be rewarded by the inhabitants of the island, when you kill rare animals, is highly questionable.
Bottom line, I can only say that it has Ubi Soft managed though to fill the great game world with content, but not with life. Too bad that the score sheets of our trade press do not do this, but apparently mass is counted before class!
