1. Switch on Repeater, wait ... (Blink-orgy after about 2 hours ago)
2. Repeater connected to the configuration via the LAN (DHCP active!)
Called 3rd configuration page (manual!) About Browser
4. Enter the SSID, select WPA2, enter password
5. Configuration is checked ...
6. off, restart, finished
Note: Repeater obviously works only with SSID broadcast enabled. Configuration options do I have in this regard not tested.
Price / Performance: top
Update:
Unfortunately, the Bonjour services from Apple (AirPrint airplay) only have limited use. There is for example the iPad in the basic Wi-Fi and the AirPrint enabled printers in the WLAN Repeater, no connection can be made to the printer. If both devices are in base-Fi or both in WLAN Repeater works Airprint (analog Airplay). A firmware update did not yield any solution in this regard. In relevant forums this problem is sometimes more discussed.
Likewise, I have now changed the SSID in WLAN Repeater. If both Wi-Fi devices with the same SSID (base or repeater) arises when changing and re-login into the respective other wireless the problem that in Win7 / 8 computer, the network is indeed found a registration in the network also takes place, but is not Inet connection is established. (Limited compound lt network status). Deactivation / activation of the wireless adapter helps here in part, sometimes could only be removed by restarting the repeater. With different SSIDs this problem does not occur. Lt. Edimax instructions of another repeater is drawn to this issue. Other sources recommend again to use the identical SSID when used in Universal Repeater mode.
That the Bonjour problem obviously occurs with other repeaters to Universal Repeater Mode (eg Devolo WLAN), I'll take that as out.
Update: I've sat down with the Edimax Support Team and the Bonjour problem described: Since today the firmware update 1.13 available and with the Bonjourdienst it works now.
