For the price I will not complain now, but my 6 year old predecessor (Sony MDR EX32) were neither expensive nor worse. Unfortunately, these suffered after 6 years a cable break.

The heights are unfortunately so shrill that they do not be good for my ears.

Too bad.

Now have perforce resorted somewhat deeper into their pockets and buy the MDR-EX450; they are much more comfortable and also provide a total of significantly more rounded sound.
