Did they get today, and had ever opportunity to compare it with my Samsung WB2000.
The camera fits comfortably in your hand, the grip strip is particularly useful for one-hand photos, or movies.
It is relatively heavy and looks pretty wertig from - as you would expect from a Nikon halt.
(If a camera is very light, they easily blurred)
From the photos I'm quite impressed first time, have done some here in the interior,
in low light, noon light, without light and with the preset automatic.
Sometimes the autofocus itself is struggling, but that's not a Nikon-unique selling point.
Surprise: even the longest focal length 450mm with fully automatic interior is sharp and not blurred -
I can manage with the D200 is not out of hand despite mechanical "Entwackelung", and I thought that would not!
Little light is probably naturally a challenge for Photographer technique.
But if it's on the Nikon is sharp, then also right! This applies to my first impression for all focal lengths -
even the dandelion with macro function is razor sharp.
When shooting indoors with little light seems to me superior to the Samung - they responded quickly and brings more useful results,
what concerns the exposure and focus. However, she rushes while also considerably stronger.
Outdoors in the sunlight for any of the cameras a problem - both deliver sharp, crisp images.
When it comes to the dawn, I would go to my previous impression, but prefer the Samsung (possibly the Nikon P300, which I really wanted).
Since it affects just the extra amount of light intensity from which by design can not provide a superzoom.
The AMOLED screen of the Samsung is probably superior to the Nikon easily, especially when larger viewing angle.
Both are, however, the best that one can find.
The video function I tested shortly. Because I am. On the autofocus is not very clear
The exposure is somewhat jerkily readjusted, but the focus in the interior I have not yet under control.
Also, since the Samsung problematic.
The .mov file format of the video clips can be properly on my Mac to play and is also easy to work there.
It runs natively on all I know players, incl. QuickTime Player and VLC.
If Windows with installed Apple QuickTime actually not be a problem - I do not know what the previous reviewer did,
who said it were not for him. So if it does not work, it is not my opinion on the Nikon or the file format,
but on the PC or on the user, sorry.
The Samsung delivers with .mp4 a processing-friendly video file format that Mac and Windows dominate equally well.
- Be careful when AVCHD video format (I have the Panasonic Videocam, but also supply other cameras):
That may have advantages in the file size must be first converted to consuming reworking!
small conclusion:
Really great camera if you know what you want - namely a lot of zoom - and what you can expect - no super-light intensity.
There are just situations that dominates no camera well, and characteristics that are mutually exclusive.
Knowing these limits and of the small chip nothing physically impossible expected, you have a camera here,
I would like to describe as "almost" perfect, and my more intense WB2000 (or a Nikon P300) ideally complements.
With a good DSLR I would - except for photos in best light - but do not want to compare.
Comparing indeed hardly a bike with a bus.
Personally I already do not want to miss - and if you about it is aware,
that there is no panacea that is superior in all aspects really, this is just a very fine compact Megazoom camera.
Has combined with a light stronger compacts like the Nikon WB300, which is better at dawn, but no Megazoom,
you can see the big SLR probably almost always leave at home, where they can play to their strengths in the studio and lowlight photography.
Since the compact nature not come then. For me, the DSLR has considerably from any case to do less now.
For a photo trip in the City I will take the same 9100, and for travel and portraits I take rather then the Samsung, or both.
Playing children or Party: WB2000. Rock concert: 9100 or both. City tour or vacation: daytime Nikon, or both, in the evening keeps the light-gathering power.
For me the great wide angle plays an important role. To have both, so I've been using the WB2000 and Coolpix9100 found my two favorite cameras.
(Where the benefits of Samsung WB2000 against the Nikon P300 in addition to their quickness and is still in the compactness,
1.8 compared to 1: - so that they fit better in your pocket for the P300 with 1 is 2.4 in Samsung but still brighter)!
In view of the fact that it is even with this improvement is still camera (for example, the odd, hakelge USB port and the speed
and the video AF) ...), I 4 (half) stars and thus class. Because there is no half stars; 5.
- But for me there is currently no real 5-star camera. But probably still remains some room for improvement in all manufacturers.
edit 1.5 .: Have now some very successful portraits made by my cat with a larger camera
or shorter distance would not have been possible.
Play Full HD movies on my Samsung TV also no problem. However, videos are really dark in the dark.
The original focus of the problem is hardly videos still there, since I put video on permanent AF
(Was in the default Single Servo AF, which to me is incomprehensible). Now go quite well.
The Camera I like getting better due to their universal applicability.
For studio recordings, product photography and portraits I will, however, continue to prefer the SLR. But otherwise ...
I am unlike some reviewers think that the quality of the distance SLR from a good compact
is often only see the laboratory or in maximum magnification.
However, this marginal difference in quality does not always meet the needs of the photographic everyday,
unless you make artistic photos, art books or fashion catalogs. These and some more areas remain secure even the "big" reserved.
But otherwise, great respect for the "good" little ones!
