Until the 90s, the Pet Shop Boys were influenced by the current pop music. That's not the case, what is my opinion on the missing class today pop music on this album. And so do Neil and Chris their own unique thing: electronic pop music that accompanies the pleasant, catchy, sometimes melancholy, sometimes emotionless vocals. Seen not surprised the plate, as it has nothing new to offer. But I guess that does not bother anyone really, especially since the album but offers reasonably variety: There are beautiful slow moody songs like "King of Rome" or really happy songs like the upbeat "Did You See Me Coming?", That of a acoustic guitar is supported, or proper dancefloor tracks like "More Than A Dream" and "Pandemonium". That the boys but more can she prove surprised with the symphonic sounding "Legacy", which with sparing beat, unusual harmonic turns and tempo changes. Also a classical allusion one experiences in the play "All Over The World", where the theme of the march of the toy soldiers used from Tchaikovsky's Nutcracker Suite. Unfortunately, this song does not convince me so completely. The songs that but really convince me are, besides the already mentioned "Beautiful People", "Building A Wall" and the song about "Love etc.", which reminds one of the old "Very" times. Overall, "Yes" a well-made pop album catchy that you can listen through a train without getting bored. I wish there were more such pop albums today.
