The opening track "To the World" sets the tone for this work. While not directly sound technical, but the attitude is not going to change. The first words of the album toll R. Kelly, which spreads to the wonderful sound produced carpet with a "Let me see you put your middle finger up." It remains pompous, the drums are majestic and neither the host nor the feature Hausheer even doubt for a second to their own built throne "This a ghetto opera, Francis Coppola Foreign Car". Teyana Taylor donated the whole thing a very harmonious, melodic end.
If you like Kanye West and his crew anyway and can not be put off by the seemingly endless arrogance, but rather sees the entertainment factor in this, which is to complete the first half certainly find a lot of pleasure. Because what is on offer with the first songs is narcissism in its most uncompromising and yet under-preserved form. In "clique" it says "Is not nobody fresher than my [...] clique". In fact, the Goodmusic Department in the first half is little doubt that it has grown into a real size in rap game and all members to professional entertainers were. Big Sean proves his typical sympathetic informal manner much verbal wit with lines like "My block behind me like I'm coming out the driveway," Pusha T sounds hungry as ever and proves particularly with "New God Flow" why you also future has definitely to be reckoned with, "I believe there's a god above me, I'm just the god of everything else!"
The beats are in this case except the first track from dirty and gloomy. Hit-Boy proves with "Cold" and "clique" absolutely, why they put him under contract and the other producers provide wonderfully harmonious work from that seamlessly blend into the sound.
The second half of the album kicks with "Higher" directly a completely different direction. Unfortunately, this is first duly wrong. Once again produced by Hit-Boy of actually very good beat is provided by a gruesome first verses of The-Dream under the ordeal. The poor Hook makes Auto-Tune Gesäusel not really up for it. Only when you have survived the first minute, it is worthwhile halfway to stay tuned. Pusha T provides as always useful verse from and the contribution of Ma $ e is not necessarily one that you absolutely need is one, but it does not harm the lesioned track even more. The first low point of the album.
"Sin City" then goes back slightly forward, with a good, very bass-heavy production that really comes mainly in Teyana Taylor's Hook to bear, however, leads "The One", unfortunately not. The Hook sounds great too forced, although the drums clap tidy, but just too much. The verses in contrast have hardly train and Kanye West, Big Sean and 2 Chainz sound abundant unmotivated. While the former, however, possess a coherence by reporting what they have already achieved, it creates 2 Chainz not quite get the pensive rail upright. He drifts towards the end of his verse but again very inconsequential in hip-hop cliches from
For the last three songs come from more than just zufriendstellend. In "Creepers" presents Kid Cudi in its usual unusual nature on a wonderful production of Dan Black, whereupon the duet between John Legend and Teyana Taylor, "Bliss", is simply managed. On a majestic musical base of Hudson Mohawke they sing from the sweetest side of love, the soul from the body. With the remix of "I Do not Like" it will end up but then again it is dirty and again indulged in hip-hop. An incredible amount of energy and Pusha T, Kanye West, Big Sean and Jadakiss outstrip the actual performers Chief Keef with ease. Since the beat but is so unbelievable, you can let the boys also quiet one verse and its not so useless Hook.
Without the small losses in the second half of this album would have been absolutely to mention the highlight of this year. This leaves a slightly stale aftertaste. Nevertheless, it remains an album that impressively the position of GOOD Music consolidates, fancy coming projects and makes really good runs.
My 5 favorites:
1. Mercy - The lead single is very well produced and the flagship MC's of Goodmusic give the jack in hand.
2. Clique - An awesome Beat Hit-Boy, the Throne and Big Sean. Much more you can not ask really.
3. I Do not Like Remix - The beat and the successful verse bring an incredible amount of energy.
4. Bliss - Beautiful, pompous duet of the two Goldkehlchen. In addition, a pleasant change.
5. New God Flow - A strong, dirty beats and Kanye West and Pusha T deliver pure arrogance - of those tracks you can hear the guys.
What surprises me, is that "Exodus 23: 1" can not be found on the album. The song is terrific by Pusha T with a discreet hook of The-Dream and simply. At the time of publication he started a feud with Lil 'Wayne and the video that was shot this is also very consistent. Absolute recommendation as specially added bonus track!
