It pays to take this adapter either an AVM WLAN Repeater or the AVM FRITZ! Powerline 546E to buy if you want to be flexible. AVM FRITZ! Powerline 546E has compared the advantage that following bridges are possible WLAN / LAN / Powerline.
The LAN bridge can also be interesting if a LAN cable is already placed or is easy to install, easy to build a wireless network with full coverage for Notebook & Co in other levels.
Who can lay a LAN cable should try a wireless bridge. Dear hone the alignment and test both the router and the 546E adapters in different positions, slowly cm for cm. Sometimes decide details.
For me, the 546E had 3m further from the router away even better wireless connection.

Only if neither a bridge nor the wireless LAN bridge with a WLAN access point, I would work to use this powerline kit.
The 520E was set for me anyway slower than the wireless bridge to the 546E, so I went back.
It therefore seems to confirm what others said that Powerline is really only recommended if you have no more chance.
It is here but even at relatively short distances no better / faster than Wi-Fi.
Do not be disappointed if you take the s gross in practice only 200 Mbit / s 500 Mbit / gross or less. With wireless I usually minimal at 300 Mbit / s. The speed can be, for example, with FRITZ! Powerline get displayed or the WLAN directly in the Fritz box under Wireless> wireless network.
The price of all powerline products is also overpriced, if you set the example to the price of a AVM Fritz box and consider that the guarantee in the products that I have seen is only 2 years and not 5 years. Also I find it not great that 1 piece costs about 50 Euro and the set of 2 pieces about 75 Euro.
Would the Fritz boxes are better, many would not need this adapter. My old Fritzbox 7170 sparked the wireless all around the house - so much further than the new 7490. And despite the fact that 7490 is much more expensive than the old 7170 because the 546E adapter is not even counting was necessary now to nearly the same again to have wireless reception. Funny or old the reach is respect. Better than new? Were there already Powerline AVM?
