Terrace Martin is a term probably only a few in Germany. It know it in this country probably only the insiders and fans of 9th Wonder, which he has taken under his arms neatly on his last album. In addition, the producer and the son of a jazz musician and a singer is known for his saxophone solos on his productions. Now he droped his new album, 3ChordFold. On this album, he tells the story of a man who stands between two women and the problems this entails. A native of LA producer, relies on its guest list also mainly on artists from the West Coast. Since Terrace is rather represented behind the controls, its guest list with Ab-Soul, Kendrick Lamar, problem, Musiq Soulchild, Robert Glasper, James Fauntleroy, Focus, Wiz Khalifa, Brevi, Freeloader, renter, Buyer, Ty Dolla Sign, Snoop Dogg , Javonte, Neka Brown and Lala Hathaway very Gorss and varied. But Terrace Martin also engages itself to the desöfteren Mic. Although he is not even the best rapper, but I would not even talking about a classic rap album. On the guest list you can see already that more singers are represented as a rapper. The sound of the album is rather quiet and melodic, but the sound is very positive, versatile and atmospheric. This album takes one from the intro, with a relaxed journey that is bored at any time. The Jazz, West Coast, hip-hop, soul and R & B influences are combined perfectly here. Moreover Terrace enriched, even with his own album, the odd track with his saxophone solos, as I have for a long time not heard it. The whole album somehow brings back to sound a back in the 90s, without old. The whole atmosphere is probably best to listen to the track Watch U Sleep. The beat glides, accompanied by a great voice and a very melodic finale at the end.
I do not know if it's just me, but this album has to be somehow missed a sound for a long time. As already mentioned, I feel transported back even though the album with many young artists is full and also somehow sounds contemporary in the 90s. It is best heard at any self-cleaning times and are really good music a chance. Who is a fan of 9th Wonder or has the last album of Dj Qiuck like, is probably here have his fun with it. Just a round, esntspanntes and melodic album for late summer. Check It Out!
