The review refers to the Nikon version of the Tamron 70-200 and should come to a D800 is used.
For the telephoto zoom range, I have the Tamron bought me some time ago as a "cost-effective" solution between 70-300 USD, since my old Nikon Zoom slider (2,8er 80-200) is simply too slow and viieeel practically no longer in use. (Optically but still my reference at the telephoto end is) to photograph children at play, so is an ordeal.
At Tamron 70-300 but I lack the possibilities of open aperture, otherwise a really useful lens.
I'm just saying that I in no way to the faction "Only Nikon is good" belong, use a very good price for the location and with an excellent product Tamron Sigma lens also have another third party in the objective Park.
The purchase itself was a spontaneous decision, because I had seen by chance that it was as a Hot Deal bargains on offer. Very well, I was quite some time with the lens at flirting and had researched quite a bit in advance, I was therefore aware that there are quite a significant number of users who rate the lens bad. Essentially, the objective falls through due to AF problems, which I summarize times with a lack of final Tamron.
After 2 short missions I found that the AF fit somehow never really. So with various focal lengths made some test shots at full aperture and tripod and all results were hands down worse than my other lenses with the same focal length and aperture. The focal point was wrong at all focal lengths.
Since I do not need the lens strongly, I have it sent in for repair and after 5 weeks, 3.5 weeks of time spent in the company Geissler, get back.
Full of anticipation I have it immediately "tested" at home, where test is a little exaggerated. Test shot indoors at 70 and at 200 mm. Wow, not only Tamron takes it to the final is not as accurate. At 200 mm seemed everything ok, at 70 mm, the focal point was approximately 2.5 m distance to loose 25 cm besides. This could clearly be seen on the camera screen is already on the computer monitor, I did not know if I should laugh or cry.
A second chance, I wanted the company. Geissler (because my confidence was "somewhat" clouded also given the long period of repair or the belief that it would adjust this copy at all possible) then no give and was very happy that Amazon has shown so accommodating, of restitution of the purchase.
In hindsight it was a mistake not to trade directly with another copy, but hindsight is easier than foresight.
The picture quality is very good (judged on the areas that should not be sharp), the AF is fast and the image stabilizer very good.
Even the Platikgehäuse I did not feel as cheap. All in all it would def no focus problems for a price of 999 EUR. 5 star deserves, so it became only 2.
If you're lucky, get a, I think, really very good lens, who has bad luck, Tamron takes final.
That the Fa. Geissler so delivers a performance that is simply an impertinence. If an adjustment is not possible, then we must not go back to the customer a product. However, this opinion does not affect the points awarded.
I am well aware that one (even in my) can set the focus for lenses with some camera models. But since I have already frequently lent out my lenses (and since then there def. No configuration options), I think that they must always focus properly. This may all my other lenses also and I expect just in the price range.
