So far for me in 2004 released CD 'Hopes and Fears' Keanes masterpiece. All subsequently published CDs (see Keane on Discogs) I found poor. Nevertheless, I wanted the British out of East Sussex again give a chance.
The new CD (or EP, as it has only just under 32 minutes of playing time) unfortunately geared again more to the recent albums, and has little of the great songs like Bedshaped or Somewhere only we know from earlier times. The piano shares have been cut back significantly, which to me the charm of the band unfortunately a little destroyed. The 3rd title Stop for a Minute (feat. K'Naan) reminds me almost of a boy band. By this are to blame, in addition to the lack of piano rock dominance that once inspired me so, the ever increasing use of synthetic sounds. Too bad the.
Overall, the sound of the song is more British, typical Keane, the songs continue by melodies rather pop, somewhere between catchy and interesting, but the charm of 'special', the rocking piano, I miss very painful.
