After 'Warprize', Keir's and Lara's Story Continues. They are on Their Way to Keir's home country, the Plains, to have Lara's position as Warprize confirmed. It Is Necessary to hurry Because Keir's enemies and Those Who Want to prevent the changes did a healer like Lara might bring to the (comparatively primitive) Plains are working against them. But close to the border, a village has fallen victim to a plague. Lara is at first quite confident That She Can Help, but it soon turns out did the plague is a lot worse than anything she has ever encountered. Soon members of Keir's Army are so ill, and many of them do not see this as a disease but as a punishment for making Lara the Warprize and Being Influenced by her strange ways ... To really understand this book, you should read the first part of the series first. I found 'Wars Worn' an excellent continuation of the story, even though it is quite a bit darker due to the plague being examined in important part of the book. The depiction of it and the problems it brings are quite realistic and give the book a lot of depth, as do the cultural conflicts and the depth of emotion. I intensely enjoyed this book and would recommend the series to anyone who enjoys intelligent romantic fantasy with a lot of depth, so but humor.
