My requirements: solid build quality, 3D capability, networking, AirPlay, Internet Radio, sufficient HDMI slots HDMI passthrough, mature app control
So I dug myself through various hi-fi forums and inquired about current models. At the end of the following models were available:
- Harman Kardon AVR 265:
I liked the design is best, but the partly negative relating to defective HK devices (permanent noise of the LS, dropouts in the Logic 7 Music mode) and grottigem Service have deterred me. But the price was just too high (partly certainly also because of the name).
- Denon AVR 2113
Live seen and heard. From the sound of her there is certainly nothing to complain about. Processing clean! By design, I like the older Denon better. In addition, the matte plastic front falls when genaureren inspection to clear. The app and the web interface I personally can not test, but the opinions on the web are rather subdued.

- Yamaha RX-V673
Had the Yammi for some time in view and also here on my wishlist. With a hi-saving action (omission end. VAT) of a major electronics retailer into I slammed directly and paid at the end barely 90 grinding more like for the smaller RX V473 (which actually still in my selection list was) :-)
Design / Processing:
The design of the RX-V series I find very appealing. Especially the round Scene buttons I really like and have a crisp pressure point, as well as the remaining buttons. The device has a tidy material quality. Although the front is also made of plastic, but this is not dull as the Denon but we act black, brushed aluminum ... very classy! The tolerances are pretty tight, gaps all absolutely equally. Yamaha delivers in this respect absolutely super quality! The plastic volume control may be a little high, but it looks at the competition from not much better!
Calibration / settings:
In AV receivers, there is no plug and play? However, at Yamaha's RX-V series already! I have connected the 2.5mm speaker cables with banana plugs (Nakamichi). For this purpose, the inner cork must be pulled out in the individual speaker terminals. (Easy clean and rotate the screw with cork pull out) by means of a screw works great! Via HDMI the individual components (Dreambox 7020HD, Apple TV and Panasonic BD player) connected, brought AV receiver to the network and it could go even! The provided room analysis Micro I placed centrally on the seat position (ear height). The calibration itself took less than 2 minutes. The calculated distances were exactly so that I could now serve up some manual fine adjustment.
Sound:
On the AV receiver is currently still hangs a 5.1 set of Panasonic. After successful calibration, I was surprised at what was still herausholbar from the speakers. The tone looks powerful, with more dynamic! The kick bass are crisp, never too low (of course, also depends on the room acoustics). For starters, I am satisfied with the sound, but must in the medium term new speaker her :)
Network functionality:
In the network of Yammi was successfully detected and stood directly ready for AirPlay and Internet Radio. The AirPlay works amazing and absolutely reliable! Set the output source in iTunes or iPhone, select title and already switcht the receiver around and begins with the stream in! The Internet radio functionality also works great! Once you have logged in vTuner the receiver, can be saved via the web browser tens radio station in the Favorites list. Later these can be selected directly via the display on the receiver! Child's play! The Yamaha AV Control app in my opinion is the best in comparison to its competitors. And smooth operation with many options! What more do you want? Top!
I think I've found the right receiver for myself and am very happy with this product! Strong buy recommendation!
