First impressions very good. After unpacking, we feel that it is a solid object, luxurious, made to last, whether the packaging box or the visual and touch the remote.
My four devices - TV, blu-ray DVD player, Internet TV box and home cinema amplifier - are recognized immediately after entering the references in the "MyHarmony" configuration software, with virtually all the functions of each device available on the touch screen.
I was afraid for autonomy, by the feeble autonomy of most of the current touch-screen smartphones, which is why I also have not opted for the "Harmony 650" car battery operated. I can not judge the length, but made the Harmony Touch battery operated reassuring. And the battery should be replaced, because in the manual indicated how to remove the battery when the end of life, so maybe is it possible to put a new battery?
I love the ergonomics of the Harmony Touch. Physical keys are soft and comfortable to touch and use, nothing to do with those hard rubber or plastic bad some remotes. Some test sites regret that the playback buttons are above the screen. Personally, it did not bother me, I almost control everything with the touch screen (very responsive and accurate, at a good smartphone) which is conveniently located at my fingertips. The definition of the screen is not outstanding but is correct and legible. The infrared beam control is less limited than I thought, which is quite useful when the devices to be controlled are not all gathered in the middle.
Otherwise, defects questions, the first one I found at the Harmony Touch is its synchronization software, at least on the Mac version. You must install the software from Microsoft "Silverlight" and even if for the moment there were no bugs or unexpected kind freeze restart the program interface is very slow. Moreover, when it comes back characters, keyboard keys are reversed ("q" for the letter "a" etc.), so I conclude that the character input was programmed for a 'qwerty' keyboard and no "QWERTY".
However, the software is simple, clear and very educational in its presentation.
Then follow two other flaws: its price, about twice as expensive as its sister Harmony 650, and sometimes timing problems when launching a mode of activity "(a unit may not s switching on simultaneously with the other, in this case a tutorial on the touch screen invites us to start up the ignition device recalcitrant)
In conclusion, if you are followers of smartphone, I think you could fill this remote control. If you are more "physical keys," I think you should try before.
