Who of Dead Can Dance would like to have only one CD, then this is highly recommended: Long (70 min.), Dead Can Dance have their regular works often limited to 35 minutes. An impressive selection of "Aion", "Dead Can Dance", "Within the Realm of a Dying Sun", including Strange that no one talented ethnic musicians from Ireland / Australia has discussed. They are often used by my colleagues as film music for documentaries in nature films. They are very popular and honored in Germany. If for some gothic bands of sound for depression and gloom and the inability to wrest the life a few good sides so associated "Dead Can Dance" rather heavenly and orgiastic Spheres in occult sound. The couple Gerrard / Perry really have an enormous range of emotional subjects, their drama sounds never placed or penetrant, the lyrics are sometimes in a fantasy language invented. When there was such a dignified and successful representation of understated drama since ...? I can think of only Greta Garbo as a visual artist. The songs sound medieval, vocal-oriented, dramatic, serious, produced very time consuming. One hardly dares to speak a set during the CD so as not to undermine the mood. Why not? Set back a CD for serious contemplative hours, sometimes I think I am in the mood naturelle past millennia who knew "Dead Can Dance" apparently. Dead Can Dance were so innovative, positive and original, too bad that the couple has separated. Out tip: The medieval Saltorello, good is actually each track. Recommended by the group I find every CD since "Aion". The solo works by Lisa Gerrard are also anschaffenswert. I wish that original pair find each other again. MFG Thomas Richter
