On my journey I have
- The Acer Iconia A510 (32GB)
- The Samsung Galaxy tablet 10.1N (16GB)
- The Asus Transformer TF300T (32GB without docking keyboard)
- And the Sony Experia Tablet S (16GB)
tested.
Here is my summary:
The Acer Iconia A510 is concerning. The equipment (Micro HDMI, Mico USB, Micro SD card slot) and the battery life at the front. On the screen there was, with regard to the colors, nothing to complain about for me. The build quality is very good overall. The weight (690g) and the thickness (11mm) fall somewhat more significant. However, I would have been able to arrange hereby yet. For all Skype users, the tablet has no integrated micro! A knock-out criterion for me was however the touchpad functionality. Here occurred extreme problems as long as the tablet, for example in a quiet location lies on a table etc. No Reaction! The Tablet went back!
As an alternative I ordered the Samsung Galaxy tablet 10.1N. The advantages of the tablets are quite clear in weight (approximately 570g) and dimensions. It is very light and thin and lies comfortably in the hand. The touchpad responds perfectly and the display can compared to the Acer and the Asus points, as the colors come across as juicy. However, this also brings a mM after Samsung typical disadvantage, because in my opinion the tablet reflects extremely. The battery life is mediocre and can not keep up with the Acer and Asus. Equipment technology terms is not spoiled by Samsung, is no memory expansion via Micro SD card possible no Micro USB and Micro HDMI no. Finally, the tablet is equipped with a dual-core processor and the other depends Quad Core Tablets afterwards, which is reflected by lags in the operation. The Tablet went back!
The number three was the Asus Transformer TF300T, which surprised me, admittedly positive! The 32GB of memory is indeed in the keyboard-less version can not be expanded, but sufficient for my needs (music and movies) from in any case! The test often mentioned in some display that should not be bright enough, in my view, also perfectly adequate (> good!). I use the Tab as a laptop replacement in my apartment, so I have to go down the brightness even at night, because otherwise it blinds me. The build quality is also good! The rear side is made of plastic (which was criticized in some tests) does not bother me. On the contrary, characterized the Tab is pleasantly light and also just 9 mm thin. I also find that the plastic does not come off cheap. It is understood with a Asus lettering, well made and point for me more than ok! There is a Micro HDMI port but no Micro USB port, which is a pity. Getting used to the speaker, which is placed a bit unlucky on the right rear edge is (will be hidden when you think of the right hand). In addition, there is only one speaker, however, who has neatly Bums! While the battery life is behind the Acer, but before Samsung. All in all I can recommend the Asus!
The Sony Experia Tablet S is the number 4 in the Test series and has finally also managed to convince me. The tablet looks very classy and is well made. The creases on the back looks especially creaks on a ... two points but a little, negligible for me personally but, although I am very picky when it comes to stuff like that. The display is very good and the colors more powerful than on the Asus. The 16 GB (beware ... only effective 10GB on my tablet!) Can be topped up via full-fledged SD card.
Something "disappointed" I am, however, of the most widely acclaimed as battery power (which, incidentally, was also the reason why I have ordered after Asus even Sony). The battery accomplishes now in my daily Doing (Internet, music, games and videos / movies) no miracle, but is ok. The Asus is in terms of battery endurance with the Sony at the same level, with the Asus is not so bright bright display and also mM already the update to Jelly Bean 4.1.1 benefits (SystemApp as Adroid OS under ICS between 30% - 40% Unlike JB with max.7% and less, Android system or hibernation have under Jelly Bean also significantly less% than under Sony 4.0.3. I hope that with the JB update here perhaps improving yields). Who wants here more detailed information, please gaze at Notebookcheck. The tests there are mM for meaningful and detailed than the example on chip or sweeping statements in forums.
Conclusion: The jack of all trades there is not mM after. Each tablet has its strengths and weaknesses. The Asus and Sony lying head to head and I can recommend both, said Asus has also got off to a inexplicable system crashes in a week, which has been mentioned in some reviews.
The highly acclaimed everywhere to battery performance of Sony's me personally although an eyesore, yet also due to the Gimicks (remote control, mini widget menu) an absolute buy recommendation!
