'Metro 2033 redux' is very linear and has an interesting story, ammunition scarcity belongs to the dreary everyday life of the subsoil. The part attached shootouts with the monsters are but somehow dull. Against human combatants it is there already more interesting because there the surreptitious aspect comes into play. The AI is unfortunately not the most credible. As long as the protagonist he is groping in the dark even not recognized by standing nearby enemies.
Several times I had 'Metro 2033 redux' like banished the shelf. Countless screen of death, and 'trial and error' passages tore at the nerves. But the interesting story, the unused setting and good, smooth graphics have kept me in line. The effects on the visor in combination with the very good lighting effects are spectacular. The constant air shortage on the surface through the use of filters made entirely of voltage. From this hidden timeout but could also feel annoyed many.
The control is very good, the sound is a little pale.
Conclusion: atmosphere, graphics and story are on the credit side, linear level design, frustige passages AI problems and 6 hrs play time on the other side.. In 2015 its age. In addition, at the end of a somewhat irritated slurred ending sequence with tearing.
Rating: 3 Stars
'Metro: Last Light' has in the M! Games get insane 93% and so aroused my interest in the series again. However startled me here again bucking and tearing of the Xbox 360 version of the purchase from the PS3 version was even a bit worse. But when I then heard about a new edition for the PS4, I was one once: "I can wait!"
And the wait was worth it. The spectacular graphics with crackling sharp textures and spectacular lighting effects running smoothly across the screen, the details of the game world are worthy of all honor. Only the somewhat awkward animations and facial expressions emotion poor are likely to be better.
But for that one pulls the atmosphere immediately into the game. The lively and interesting story with many twists and countless conversations for listening knows how to please. The Shootings against the monsters are even in the successor rather plump but not as phoney as in 'Metro 2033'. The human opponents can be re-done in a direct firefight, or from the ammunition save ends ambush. A deal complete, free of violence is often possible and ensures tension.
The control runs as smooth as silk, the German Synchro is good, and the scope with 12 hours also. The occasional boss fights are nicely done. The sound is good, but not spectacular.
Conclusion: 'Metro: Last Light' takes place less tough than its predecessor and, with its graphic frequently open mouths. The story holds up to the end at the bar and the atmosphere sucks the player into the action. On the opposite side but are still somewhat clumsy battles against monsters and humans. For air scarcity still worried at the surface and in polluted tunnels for thrills. "Damn it, my character groans already, I need new filters, fast." Since you're looking almost panicked every angle. Class. But unfortunately, not the pre-end sequence, the extremely washy comes again. Too bad.
Rating: 4 stars.
Total score: 3.5 stars. However, due to the low price of 35 euros for both games, and a playing time of about 18 hours. I forgive final 4 stars.
