The series
Since the processes and control in the series basically games are always similar, the game lives from the setting, the atmosphere of the game world, the cities.
Assassins Creed 3 I liked not as good as it played a large part in nature, it came to hunting and the cities were too spread out. The houses were too low and the streets too wide. It was often not possible to pass through the city over the rooftops. It also did not like me to play the boring and long-winded Ship missions. That's why I'm also the first time got off to a Black Flag of the series, after I have played all the other parts and have not gained me. The Pirate setting did not speak to me, I'll still get it to me in the future as a budget title.
My favorite series are AC 2 and Brotherhood, because of the great cities of Florence and Rome. Therefore, I was full of anticipation, as it was said that Unity plays in Paris during the French Revolution. Finally a great, great town and no sweeping landscapes or sea missions!
The world
When I lodged the game for the first time and have seen Versailles, and later saw the huge crowd in front of perfectly modeled Notre Dame, I noticed smooth down his jaw. I have never seen in a game such crowds! Each completely individual and different. The premises of the locks are so pomp and splendidly designed that one shining eyes. So many details in the figures and in the architecture! In addition, there are plenty of open houses, which are beautifully decorated. Paris is simply fantastic, because it can not be any two opinions!
The atmosphere like it just like in the old Florence-Rome and games. Top!
One that compared to AC3, Black Flag and Rogue waived sweeping landscapes and is also confined to a city is absolutely no disadvantage, but just right for my taste. There are also so enough variety and the city is huge. There are quarters where the magnificent, well-guarded noble houses and palaces pile. In the north, there are areas where poor wooden stalls are and stain the Gerber in creeks their materials. In the southwest there are extensive parks and green spaces. Everything is there.
The story is ok, but I will not go a long, because the plays for me in the series usually only second fiddle. The game world is the star!
Missions
The missions are varied and exciting. There are an awful lot to do to get into the story forward, but also to earn the other hand, money and crack crates to earn money for better equipment, which you put in the armament and better equipment, for example, better pants, arm protectors, hoods, etc ..
Even skills that were standard in the old parts of the series, you have to gradually earn, such as the double-attack or throw some bombs. This one unlocks with points obtained for the execution of story missions. This annoyed me at first, but it motivates the other hand, to beef up his assassins and to get better.
Control
Control almost always feels. However, there are two negative points:
Firstly, one can no longer simply a facade houses (or wherever you just hang) just in the opposite direction jump away, but only to climb down or work your way up. Getting off work now, incidentally, excellent, because there is now a separate button for the Assassins and looking at himself suitable projections and swings elegantly down. I can just stop in the middle no longer make the finish by jumping, what bothers me.
The second negative aspect is the entry through a window, if you climb on a facade. I do not know how many times I was shot down already with car chases from the wall because my Assassin has not managed to climb through a window. He climbs left over, right over, over, under, just rarely pure. Although there is also an extra button for this. Seems Arno often not interested. Often annoying, but to cope.
The combat control as usual. With good timing, the fights are usually not a problem. The formerly powerful counterattacks are history, but you can parry very good with feeling, and then move on to the counter-attack. Tricky, it is only when snipers with rifles or some pistol shooters are in the vicinity. Because you can plug in a few hits before it faded away. Top always have a supply of this smoke bombs to obscure the view.
Now we come to the big media discussed annoyances of Unity, which cleave the fans of the series.
The performance
I do not know if I caught a Monday product in a good way, but I had more than 25 hours not once a jerking or any other graphical glitches. No figures are available in the air or no textures have (there are circulating yes screenshots on the Internet), no invisible walls or clipping error. No edge flares, nothing like that. The performance is absolutely impeccable! Even when I walk through thousands of NPCs, everything is represented completely liquid, which I find very impressive.
Even if this were not so, you have to decide what you prefer to: a jam-packed world of dense atmosphere, great textures and thousands of NPCs in there now and then jerky times or rather thinly populated a smooth world with poorer textures and less fuss? I would opt for the former!
Cross Merchandise stuff
The only point that has brought me to really start up the wall! I buy a full price game, stand in Paris during the Revolution in front of a treasure chest, which I want to crack and then plöppt on a screen that you can just open that box when the Assassins Creed App charges down and there Missions plays. An absolute absurdity! Outrageous!
Then the constant U-Play instructions and any helix-Points, which you can buy. I honestly do not know what that is, not a second'm busy myself.
I think the outcry from the community perfectly justified and I hope that this will cause future Ubisoft dispensed with such bells and whistles! I have in the meantime arranged myself to avoid certain crates and try not to annoy me.
Conclusion
If I forget the anger over the crates and me inlets on the game, it is simply fantastic for me! The atmosphere is awesome! Never was seen in a game so many people at once! The city lives and breathes and acts totally authentic. The open-world design is lifted by Unity to a new level and I do not just mean for the series, but also in comparison with other open-world titles. There is so much to do and never gets boring.
Performance issues, I realize nothing. In others it seems they really give. I consider it positive and I am pleased that the first DLC for free Ubisoft is downloaded in response to criticism.
A star deduction is available for the bells and whistles with the app and all Begleitkram to the Ubisoft wants to force me as a player.
Would that not have been, there were smooth 5 Stars!
