Nicole was born to Marliese and Siegfried Hohloch. In 1971 she had her first performances in school and company parties and was discovered in 1980 on a song festival in Schwäbisch Hall by Robert Young. 1981 took Jupiter Records with Ralph Siegel, the singer under contract. As early as the summer of the same year conquered Nicole immediately the charts with their title Do not fly so high, my little friend. The song was number two of the sales charts for 22 weeks, but failed in the pre-selection for the Grand Prix Euro Vision Song Contest.
On April 24, 1982, the then 17-year-old high school student Nicole became the first German representative the Euro Vision Song Contest in English Harrogate with the song A little peace. This winning song has sold over five million copies worldwide, won platinum and gold.
Nicole took seventeen times the first place in the ZDF Hit Parade.
