Power:
- Distortion: a lens of this focal length very good, much better than some of Sony lenses without lens profiles.
- Have open determines the sharpness in the center, but the edges are not at the same level. Nevertheless, I will use the lens in any case open.
- So from aperture 4, the image quality is hardly gradable.
- From aperture 11 is the diffraction at the A6000 visible
I shoot in RAW format and use Lightroom.
Unfortunately, at least in the current LR 5.7.1, there is no lens profile. So, the past vices of the lens you have to remove yourself or use a profile from a different lens, which fits halfway.
The last imperfections are:
- Open the lens tends to vignetting
- As there is slight distortion.
I definitely recommend to remove the last impropriety; then there is absolutely nothing to complain about.
Whoever does not take into account is the full potential of this lens can avoid pushing.
I can compare this lens with the SEL-1018 because I own it myself. You have to with an open aperture (less than / equal 4) want to take pictures, because then this lens is at the moment no alternative mW.
Eh If you only use aperture 5.6 and upwards, the Zoom offers more variability.
Conclusion:
For inexperienced JPG photographers, the lens is rather nothing, because it is sure to give never lens corrections for this lens in a camera; it simply lack the contacts on the lens. So in order to exploit its full potential, you will always have to try a popular Raw Converter.
You are rewarded with very good image quality.
