I use the S6200 mainly as DLNA, streaming and USB player. This makes it very well. So far I could play all possible formats like HD MKV, AVI / xvid, mp3 easily via DLNA namely in 5.1. DIVX he does not want. And learn about numerous formats support you can learn in the downloadable handbook on the Sony website.
As mentioned multiple times is all output via DLNA and USB with 60Hz. Fortunately, I had so far have yet to notice any stuttering. Perhaps this is the so well get along well at Philips TV? Thus, the player comes with all of my used formats cope properly, no reason for nagging.
Furthermore, Amazon Instant Video is easy to set up and is doing very well against other opinions! Similarly, many other streaming services for a quick check. All the way, also unchanged with the latest firmware update!
The wireless reception performance I find outstanding and stable. Where I for any handheld prefer a Asus repeater because of the site, these players make it as strong directly to the remote Asus router, without interruption for up to 35 Mbps! That's enough for me. If you want more, must rewire directly in doubt.
The on-screen menu is kept simple, clearly designed and beautifully delay to use. The player responds quickly to all inputs. What is probably due to the installed CPU especially dual core. Liquid navigation and operation are extremely important to me and a knock-out criterion of many other players, even smaller models of the same brand.
Another positive side effect of the PS3-like menu is that you can finally read long file names completely. Nothing appears cut in narrow columns, as with other brands. Text entries, however, are accustomed annoying as one character only through a keypad, via navigation keys, selectable. I have therefore attached a small Mini-RF keyboard via USB. But surfing on TV should not be overrated, it is so far only a gimmick that quickly loses its appeal, also due to the rather average web browser without Flash functionality.
The supplied remote control is indeed puny, but very good, even "blind" to operate. She has a very good range and transmission strength, with me even quasi diagonally. However, I use now for this player my Harmony universal remote control. And occasionally the Mobile App Remote (TV-Side View) on tablet and mobile. So you can then easily select even one provided on the home network file inset CD / BluRay / USB and can play on the player, without having to use the player onscreen menu. Top!
Of course, this player also BluRays and DVDs can play in super also excellent image quality. But since I have not expected anything else, and certainly not with a potent 4K chip. Everything is displayed original, not just artificially restricted in 60Hz, also eg in 24p on the very quiet drive. Whatever the S6200 is volume technically unremarkable and not prone to significant heat generation.
Technically connection has this player via 2x USB 2.0 ports, 10/100 Ethernet, integrated WLAN, 1x HDMI and 1x digital coax audio output. The optical output (TOS Link) is pleasing to the savings policy Sonys victim.
All in all I do not regret the purchase, am so far very pleased.
