The last 3 weeks I was able to check the Home Cooker through their paces:
The kit includes a pot with agitator, a sieve for noodles and rice cook, a steaming basket with insert for delicate foods (eg, salmon, ...) and a cutting tower with 5 disks for grating (coarse and fine), cutting (coarse and fine ) and julienne strips.
For device:
The manual is sufficient because the device is easy to operate. In addition, it is self-explanatory. You can choose between 40 degrees (thawing), 70 degrees (keep warm), 90 degrees (simmering), 110 degrees (cooking), 130 degrees (vapors), 175 degrees (roast) and 250 degrees (Turbo) choose.
Thus, the Home Cooker allows steaming, boiling, baking, melting, holding and reheating.
The display gives you the desired temperature and the desired time. He counts this time backwards and an alarm will sound when the cooking time is finished. One can start the Home Cooker also untimed, he counts up. After 99 minutes, he turns off automatically for safety.
For pot:
The container holds 2.5 liters and is sufficient for a family of 5. It is very easy to clean and can be drip-free pouring. Even caramel residues can be removed by simply soaking easily. The paddle rotates slowly, but it can burn anything.
For cutting Tower:
The tower is so cutting konzepiert that he crushed directly into the pot. For other bowls the distance is somewhat large, you should hold the bowl directly under the tower, otherwise it scatters over the worktop. Remnants remain as much or little, as with conventional kitchen cutting machines, with proper use. However, the rasping hook a little when changing because you should take good care of his fingers or use a kitchen towel. He has a somewhat small filling opening, but you can live with. The result is all in all satisfactory.
All parts of HomeCookers (except the hot plate, of course) are dishwasher safe.
Question:
Do I need the Home Cooker?
The Home Cooker is at first sight no time savings, since not change the cooking times. But the big advantage is: you can do it, if it has reached the target temperature, simply leave you alone and move on to other things. Cooking with my child has made me so much fun. I did not have to constantly keep an eye on pots and pans. Especially the Home Cooker suitable for braising. Dishes like goulash, bolognese, chilli, a really good tomato sauce go mostly jiffy stirred in the oven or in the pot itself. But this food is always delicious, the longer you are burnt. But I guess the Home Cooker especially.
Objections are often: I can with a good knife also, only with less washing. Or: The can but only a boil, stirring. Yes! But this argument could banish even mixers and stirrers and again swing the whisk.
Vital the Home Cooker is not, but it is a relief to me in the kitchen and it's just fun!
A few small suggestions: A timer with which you can vorprogramieren the start and be able to program the opportunity to more than 99 minutes (eg 3 hrs goulash or Nieriggaren several hours.).. He could be a bit cheaper. 199.00 it is definitely worth it, when you have to think longer 399,00.
Conclusion:
The Home Cooker is a real help to me. You have to learn to go with it to, partly slightly different cooking only. But it's fun much with him to try and gives me time when I can take care of other things and the signal then reports: "Dinner's ready!"
