This book is an introduction to space issues. The plan is well constructed. Teaching, it gradually covers the characteristics of the space before addressing its use for strategic purposes. Too bad that the author sometimes lost in digressions about that lengthen the gain for no real global understanding.
I appreciated the completeness of this book. It can well understand the challenge of access to space. This is a hostile environment, very well explained, and ongoing technological challenge to access it, to explore it and maintain it. It also opens interesting perspectives on the future use of space and the different possible scenarios between cooperation, hostilities and strategic interests. Because the space does not summarizes the current use of the orbits (lower geostationary) satellites and rockets or built so far. Only regret: the digressions (sometimes surprising), and it lacks a chapter provided a little more on the contribution of space in everyday civilian and military.
