Buy recommendation! Holds just what it promises.
Batteries in the Fernbedinung insert (included), receiver simply plug in an available USB and the PC with Windows XP, Vista or Windows 7 remote control.
Mouse with left and right mouse, start button, volume, standby on / off, etc. can be controlled without any further configuration. The control elements of Microsoft's Media Center Edition (MCE) are fully supported.
Once set up you do not have to get up from bed to the (media) boot PC to sign up to start its programs (films) and shut down again.
Pro:
- Fully Windows 7 compatible, true plug-and-play
- Geeingnet HTPC / Media-PC
- Mouse function (Mouse left and right mouse button)
- Recipient small USB immediately available and strongly = good grasp
- Keys using external third party programs (EventGhost etc.) can be used with virtually any program (!).
Cons:
- Excessive labeling
- Small and quite a lot of buttons that are close together
Installation / configuration:
Included Inserting the batteries in the remote control, the receiver into an available USB - plug slot. Finished!
Successfully tested I have the functions under Windows XP incl. SP3 (Version Feb. 2009), Vista 32 bit Ultimate (as Okt.09) and Windows 7 32 bit (of Nov. 09).
Function / operation:
About the free mouse can of course in principle, all functions operate Windows, especially since there is a button for the left and right mouse. Media Center is fully supported.
You can shut down the PC with the remote control or completely put to Standby mode. If a password is set during registration, you need the (included with Windows) on-screen keyboard, you can just start a startup application with. You can then enter any password (somewhat cumbersome) on the screen to complete QWERTY keyboard.
I myself have only numbers set as a password and can type directly on the numeric keypad of the FB.
The mouse function is sufficiently sensitive and has something of a potentiometer, ie the speed increases with prolonged press.
Reception:
The USB receiver is me behind the PC and I'm sitting about 4 feet away. There are no problems with the reception, and although there is no direct line of sight between the FB and the receiver.
Disorders of the hi-fi system of the LCD TV or other devices I could not tell.
Processing / Optics:
Processing is fine, the buttons give a tactile feedback, but are arranged in some cases quite small and close together. In addition, the labeling of the buttons is held something small and light illegible. Well, and what FB is already beautiful !? At the location of the keys you can get used to and is not a problem.
