After installing the first surprise. All devices are detected and for all devices except the scanner, there were drivers. Namely, the operating system itself.
Only the scanner did not go. No driver is available. But is also already 10 years old.
But precisely because the XP Mode can display its strengths.
Here's a little explanation: The XP Mode is not installed by default. First, then download and then install. After the start you can see a normal XP desktop.
Installing the software for the scanner worked without problems. After the XP Mode can be closed.
To start the software has been installed in XP Mode you go to the Windows Button -> All Programs -> Windows Virtual PC -> Windows XP Mode applications.
The XP mode itself must not be started. Of course, it is possible a link to the desktop, taskbar or anywhere else to ever create. When scanning, there is another point.
Namely, after the program has started, click Manage right mouse button on the program's icon in the taskbar and on USB devices. Then also the USB driver of XP Mode's used.
So that was the hardware. For software, I can not say much really. After 2 months, I have not found a software that did not work. That was the second surprise.
My conclusion is: The change has paid off. The scanner is not the same support was expected, but was very well resolved.
