With Cinder Marissa Meyer has created a futuristic and complex world, the extremely realistic appear despite many technical innovations, androids and a species on the moon. The citizens of New Beijing are threatened not only by a plague that spreads more and more and that kills the population. Also by Lunar, who live on the moon and can use their powers to manipulate, threatening war, which can only be prevented through an alliance.
Protagonist is the Cyborg Cinder, who was adopted as a little girl and living together after the death of her stepfather with her stepmother and two stepsisters Andri Pearl and Peony. She is a mechanic and earned money for repairs, the family. As Cyborg she is shunned and ostracized by her family. Only alone Peony and Android Iko her stand aside.
Cinder was my kind of girl. One can not help but sympathize for them. Although, or perhaps because it is Cyborg, she is a gracious person. Discussions with Iko (and all other sarcastic comments in the course of the book) have brought me more than once laughing.
Between Cinder and Prince Kai paves over time even a small love affair on. This is very real for a change, because the approaches found only very slow gradually instead. Refreshing I also found it that Cinder more than once rejects, rather than being an average, neck fell over head protagonist.
All the characters I could imagine with pictorially. They are good well thought out and worked out and their actions were understandable for me.
The story always contains a certain amount of tension, so you want to know wiees continues. The author has taken the tale about Cinderella loosely as a template and not retold. Even though there are similarities, but Cinder is very independent and does not always lead in the same direction as the original.
The only drawback was the air of the great mystery at the end, which has certainly already guessed everyone at some point and therefore did not constitute such a big surprise for me. In this regard I came Cinder also a bit before standing on the hose. And I also came the book in some places before some protracted.
CONCLUSION
Cinder is a creative retelling that convinces inspite of small problems with wonderful characters, an interesting newly-created world and a small but powerful portion of love and sarcasm!
