Since there is the Sawyer filter, actually have lost all other filters, in particular the ceramic filter, its raison d'être. The Sawyer Mini and the slightly larger Sawyer Squeeze are much smaller, lighter, maintenance-free and absolutely safe. After several tours in which exclusively water from streams, ponds and sources was used, offers the ease of use, the flow rate and robustness. Just the best for lightweight luggage on hiking :-)
