After several years, I have dared to venture I again AMD to find a replacement for my somewhat outdated GeForce GTX 650 OC by Gigabyte and had therefore ordered the R9-270X of XFX! The installation went a little more difficult than expected, since the power supply of 2x 6pin runs along the top of the graphics card and I have reason to get the computer case just yet ... ie: those who have a small housing, should first consider the dimensions accurately ! Once inside, the card is immediately recognized and the installation was carried out without incident. For the first test run were Far Cry 4, Sleeping Dogs Definitive Edition and Sniper Elite III - each on Ultra settings @ 1920x1080 - is gambles! Results: FC4 30-40fps, SD: DE> 50fps, SE-III Multisampling 2.25x> 30fps / without multisampling> 50fps. For the second test run 3DMark was launched and returned the following results: Firestrike 5107 / Sky Diver 14538 / Cloud Gate 14513 -> ie: excellent performance in the mid-range area and also High-Perfomance title creates the XFX still problems, if you have a few Details reduced. In idle, the temperature of the XFX is between 35 and 40 ° C and under load average 67-70 ° C (max temperature reached. 76 ° C). The fans are definitely listening at full load, but I personally do not really feel as disturbing ... What you should at AMD strictly observed when upgrading from nVidia is that AMD R9er series consumes comparatively much power! A 550W PSU (650W in CrossFire) should there be the absolute minimum.
All in all I am very satisfied and the XFX-R9-270X can recommend! (..and Although I had many years of nVidia trailer!)
Addendum of 05/21/2015: Meanwhile, I have GTA V and The Witcher 3 installed on my system and how am still of the XFX thrilled! Both run on "high" and who can live with a few stutters here and there, can also screw confidently beat! ;) (Note for TW3 on Ultra: Disabling nVidia Hairworks brings ~ 10fps!)
