Vorneweg the negatives: Annoying I found the gruesome JPEG engine - not to be used, which is probably the volume of data. It is therefore in principle announced RAW mode, the images must be less "developed". The retention times of the images in RAW mode are veeeery loooong (which are also sometimes just around 50 MB per image). Until they can look to check on the screen passes (felt) an eternity (despite faster CF card (800x UDMA - the camera also supports the way)).
All this takes time, and sometimes also a little nervous.
What can I say: Actually, you have to be a very small his little batty, to face this Urvieh in the barn. But the results are sometimes amazing. The feel of the camera is also absolutely höchstwertig. Where other cameras the sky and clouds are displayed on overcast days as "milky mass", the Foveon sensor generates more clear color differentiation. For example, the representation of skin tones in portraits is a dream. Much is also a question of quality of the lens. A nice feature for me is: The AF sensor also works with the adapted manual lenses and indicates when you have precisely focused.
Conclusion: There are many cameras that make more convenient very, very good photos. But what the image quality, especially the color resolution is concerned, the SD1 sets still a pretty big shovel on it.
The SD1 is a (not entirely unrestricted) recommendation for me - preferably in conjunction with a viable compact "strongman".
So, that's it, then many times successful Fotos..womit Whatever :)
