I made the choice of not too expensive printer (Epson XP series), rather high marks in photo quality. Indeed the results are very good with Epson ink and paper.
But Epson papers are almost all shiny (glossy) and have a magenta cast (that said, easy to fix in the driver).
Exit the Ink trilogy - paper - Printer you "impose" brands require testing inevitably and unfortunately no paper is perfect for all types of printing.
Among the excellent satin papers, halfway between matte and shiny, I retained this CANSON the quality / price ratio in my opinion. Beautiful pearly white surface too, with his good hand and 270g beautiful shades of color or gray. great portraits and pictures rich in nuances.
It's a real paper with a serious PREMIUM package and ICC profiles available on the manufacturer's website.
Each print costs about 1 A4 page with ink and paper. Some will rightly that it is expensive, but with my simple Epson public, I get with this paper prints well above the labs "supermarket"
Finally, I added a final argument outside picture context. CANSON is a French company, and a REAL .... stationer since the 16th century! In this time of great anything, it's historical / economic HERITAGE! .......... Morbleu BELLY AND GREY SAINT ....... !!!
