Having learned that a new team took over the series, I gave it a shot out of curiosity. Suffice to say we expected them to turn! Graphics level there actually has a better, but more realistic drawing is double-edged: it gives a youthful look to the series, one can notice a great irregularity in the features of the characters. Michel Vaillant is sometimes very successful, beautiful and suddenly even the simpleton or puffy air or with a little bull neck consistent with physical sports.
In some cases, his wife Françoise is very pretty while in others it looks like my sister in law ... The Vaillant parents have more family resemblance to the hero, the father is like the late Jacques Chaban Delmas and the mother is very ugly. We recognize also the little big brother Jean-Pierre. Journalist Carole Ouessant charged to "follow" Michel Vaillant closely resembles Carole Gaessler FR3 (nice drawing, sexy women that humanizes this a little too clinical series).
Suffice to say that Marc Bourgne and Benjamin Bénéteau still have work ahead for drawing, but you can feel them on the right track, a little effort!
At scenario, it seems that the racing becomes secondary, almost anecdotal, when same pretext beautiful sketches of cars. By cons, it bard to all floors in Valiant. The "old" we thought tidy cars do not hear of electric vehicles, Jean-Pierre is worried about falling sales figures (it's like at Peugeot!) And Michel and Françoise are worried about their son (very successful drawing) who rebels from its Swiss pension.
I will definitely buy the second volume of this new season to see if any progress expected to graphics level and finally whether Michel Vaillant lie with Carole Gaessler (well, Carole Ouessant in comics!).
Will there finally is some sex in Michel Vaillant? The valiant father will eat his hat!
PS: Does anyone have news of Steve Warson?
