A beautiful recreation of a novel by G. Simenon set space and where one plunges in his endearing atmosphere

This 3-CD box set released in 2003 in France Inter / Gallimard audio collection offers the interpretation of the full text of the novel by Georges Simenon featuring his famous commissioner (born under his pen in 1931), and also his wife as his title indicates.
As always in these boxes, is recreated the atmosphere of the book (here we think of the 50s) with the participation of 10 actors and the sounds and atmospheres of everyday life ... It reiterates the principle of "fictions" of " France Culture ", although this set is issued in cooperation with France Inter. The recording was made in the studios of the round house with an adjustment made for a regular in the series: Patrick Liegibel.
Listening takes almost 3 hours and a half each disc cutting action in 4 to 6 beaches in order to resume the place more easily.

The action takes place entirely in Paris, as often with Simenon. We hear street names ginned different neighborhoods, the author wanted to keep the truth and he was inquiring particularly.
Pierre Santini brilliantly played the role of the Commissioner with a very safe and managed insurance. The characteristic high-pitched voice ("with slight crack" indicates short booklet) Fanny Cottençon plays the role of the wife of the accused. Also note the presence of Catherine Hiegel, member of the Comédie-French at the time of registration. These are the three actors whose names are the best known.
The narrator, used to tell the action off dialogues, Charlie Nelson. He has a deep voice, calm and ever pressing of one who knows his role, and just tell the adventures that expedite action and come join the dialogues beaches. A delight to tell prevents rushing its flow.

As often in Simenon, we perceive a more intimate aspect of the Commissioner: here the behavior of his wife and his role in preparing lunch with care and love even when it was returning to his home without warning.
For this audio device, we are privileged witnesses of the action, and taken by her. The story is dense and the outcome is not the culprit and hints at the place of facts. It reveals and also chronicles intermittent errors of the investigation.

The author also takes us through his different characters in a gallery and distinct types of characters that represent the company's microcosm: the ambitious young inspector, the fragile woman, the arrogant lawyer, a conscientious craftsman ... and of course the scoundrel shallows.
