Tweedle Dee & Tweedle Dum

Love and Theft (Audio CD)

Customer Review

In 1962, Bob Dylan on his debut. In 2001 he brought Love and Theft on the market and I have to say, it is quite amazing that an artist can last as long as successful. Dylan, the absolute favorite critic of the past 40 years ... before you can actually just pull his hat. Even almost 40 years after his debut he still can. Although he mitlerweile vocally and musically sounds very different.
On this disc excellent numbers between folk-rock and blues are once again to be found. Especially the first track "Tweedle Dee & Tweedle Dum" is probably one of the highlights of his career second half and making again and again fun. Also live it is an absolute blast and is often like played by Dylan. Even songs like "Summer Days", "po'boy" or "Sugar Baby" in my view simply class and show why Dylan still has such a high priority among the music critics.
However, Dylan also has overdone it in my opinion here the one time or another. "Mississippi", for example, is a little too long for me. This tendency, he continues on his then published album "Modern Times". The songs do not stop partially easy.
Nevertheless, "Love And Theft" is not a breakaway down and by some excellent tracks absolutely worth hearing.
