On the positive side, it is always cheerful face of the many ideas developed by LeapFrog to interest children, while contributing to the intellectual and personal development of those. The programs are varied and cover a wide range: games Classic videos, learning to draw (very informative with Disney software), mp3 players, educational games, introduction to foreign languages, and I certainly forget more! Other largely positive, responsiveness, professionalism and friendliness of the service that really takes into account your problem, which is rare enough to be stressed.
However, mixed side, we question some of the interest to release a new tablet with as few new features: a more powerful processor, more memory available, and a two-sided camera (resolution: only 2 megapixels ) are the only changes from version 1. The first two changes are nice but do not present a major interest for the child user. Only the camera on each side of the tablet comes to bring a real advantage (although thin, allowing the resolution too rarely achieve sharp photos). One has the impression of having cameras in the hands Leapster Explorer (which is both a compliment because it is perfectly calibrated devices for children, and both critical because it shows the few changes made by LeapFrog depth).
Finally, really negative side, the purchasing card system to download applications from the App Center is still painful and prehistoric (but source LeapFrog, this should switch to a direct download on the model of the App or Centers for tablets smartphones by the end of the year).
Nevertheless, despite these few disparaging remarks, we must not lose sight of the primary goal is the pleasure of the child and the discovery of new products. At that level, the LeapPad 2 thus appears perfectly to the task. But if you already have version 1 or Leapster Explorer, it does not necessarily need to invest in this new model.
