I photograph a week about 500-1500 shots and looked more after an all-round lens with a higher, uniform lighting intensity, an image stabilizer, USM motors and the best possible dust seal.
The decision in favor of the EF 24-105mm 1: 4L not was difficult: on the one hand, the lens has a respectable zoom range and the desired of me features - on the other hand, I am often in the AL area on the road, so that I, the 1: 4 aperture stop quite looking estimate.
Alternatively, the EF 24-70mm 1 would be eg: 2.8L came into question - to the disadvantage of limited but clearly zoom range and the lack of image stabilization.
However, it should also be clear that it is more likely here to a professional all-round lens with good values - but not necessarily with peaks such as the resolution. Who wants to know more, for example, should look at the times on Photozone.de resolution values of the objective on a APS-C sensor. Also worth mentioning is that this changes the lens length at the zoom operation. Fully zoomed (105 mm) reaches the lens until aperture 11 (!!!), the highest image quality. In the area of 24-70mm are my working aperture 5.6 and 8. FIG.
Conclusion: Who buys this lens, gets a very valuable processed Allround "Always top" lens upscale with the values already described. The resolution is very good - but at the end of the zoom range at any time outstanding. From my perspective, it makes here rather the sum of the technical details that affect overall very convincing.
