For comparison, we also listened to some more open or semi-open KH. All closed KH gave way, a good sound isolation to the outside. That was no longer the case with the open models. But with "well-kept" volume were the sounds that penetrated to the outside, for my wife still quite bearable. On the other hand, offered the open airy sound with a KH more breadth and openness. The sound experience is much closer in my opinion the natural hearing. Someone who likes a concentrated, framed sound like who seems generate more in your head inside, the KH is a closed model recommended. I appeared all open models less intrusive and more natural in tone. Very well liked me Beyerdynamic DT model 880. Priced at about 200, - EUR or even below it delivers an absolutely convincing sound experience. The KH is also easy and without high pressure. To me it offered the best comfort. My wife had too little pressure, he slipped it in motion from the head. Incidentally, we heard the 600 ohm version. There are also these KH 250 and 32 ohms. Keep this in mind when KH should be operated at low power, mobile devices, which we did not have before. The KH high resistance should be able to represent sound changes more quickly and therefore sound better. We operate our KH 600 ohms at a Naim Uniti 2 and are completely satisfied with the volume. In addition to the DT 880 We heard the DT 990 compared to 880 of my back had a little too much bass but much less than the Fostex TH 600. Again, the sound can be evaluated very differently depending on the listening habits. Of the two open Beyer models also a Pro version is available that has a slightly higher pressure and is equipped depending on the Ohms with other cables. (Details on the clear Beyer site Specifications.) The model T 90 sound louder and brighter, but could not convince priced compared to the DT 880 me. Only the model T 1 sounded to me as differentiated and of course as I wish me and exceeded the DT 880 significantly. Whether one is worth 5 times the purchase price, everyone must decide for themselves. The T1 is also better and also high-quality processed almost twice as heavy. I feel the comfort as neat but it is nowhere near as light as a feather as the DT 880. The cable on T1 is too heavy for me, I always think of it on his lap, to relieve the train.
Conclusion: I am surprised at how different sound KH models. I am glad to have heard before purchasing different models themselves. The semi-open Beyer models interfere eavesdroppers outside less than I feared and sound inside much better than closed models. For me it was at 900, - EUR final, so I am no longer employed with the Sennheiser HD 800.
