The NEXUS player, however, acts as its own platform, which also allows streaming over the Google Cast interface.
Installation:
The installation was very simple: HDMI cable (not supplied) and plug in the mains plug, (included!) Battery in the remote loading condition and then only via Bluetooth pairing to make (also very simple). I also have the ASUS Gamepad fetched that is very easy to pair also (and has also included the batteries).
Here again an overview of the available streaming apps that are available for the Nexus Player:
-YouTube
-Netflix
-Google Play Movies
-Google Play Music
-7TV (ProSieben / Sat1)
-ARDMediathek
-ZDFMediathek
-Tagesschau
-Arte TV
-mirror TV
TV picture
-Redbull TV
-SPORT1
-Zattoo Live TV - Sports, News
-Clipfish
-Berliner Philharmonic
-VEVO TV
There is also a small selection of games, but still can be significantly increased. Nevertheless, for example, asphalt Airborne makes the ASUS gamepad on the NEXUS players very well. The graphics of the game corresponds approximately to the graphics of Playstation 3 games.
It is very good that it has 8GB memory on the Nexus player and thus can also store data locally. Even if you can not install directly as Spotify app, so you will be able to find after some searching a way to his Spotify account access via the Nexus player and play the music as well as on the system / TV.
Overall, the NEXUS player is a good device and I think first serious effort by Google (with ASUS together) into the Android TV time to take root. The available libraries and streaming apps are not bad, even if you have to get here some additional subscriptions (Example: Netflix). Still, it's much easier with the Nexus player to On Demand to see something as, for example, with the Chromecast. The higher price makes here paid my opinion.
At the moment, however, should - be strong refills - especially at the games for the players!
