"Beam - Scape" is the first album of electronics - Duos Mergener and Michael Weisser, who some time later joined forces under the project name SOFTWARE and in the following years until their separation in 1999 published many more great albums. Since the release of SOFTWARE P. Mergener produced to date continue in his studio in the Eiffel electronic music, M. Weisser is active, however, above all, as a media artist. 1984, in which even this album was released, was sort of the birth year of the project SOFTWARE and the beginning of a fruitful collaboration between P. Mergener and M. Weisser. The album "Beam - Scape" is in principle only from the first four tracks on this CD, the tracks 5-8, however, are in turn the complete A - side of the published in 1986 album "Night - Light". The eight tracks on this CD are mostly very quiet and of course, as befits this duo, often provided with spacey soundscapes and catchy Sequencerlines. Every now and then comes in one or the other track and the rhythm - computer used. But certainly one can the album "Beam - Scape", so the first four tracks on this CD, for very early SOFTWARE - era include, as the music of this duo is still very to the style of the "Berlin School" orientated and the tracks like once more than 15 minutes and more could be long. The remaining four tracks, however, that the A - side of the two years later published the album "Night - Light" (1986), already show, in which musical direction, the two musicians would develop their project SOFTWARE. And this is exactly why this CD is so interesting and ought in any SOFTWARE - Fan missing. Even friends well produced electronic - music I can recommend this album highly enough. Above all, it is precisely the four tracks of the "Beam - Scape" - album, let the listener hovering in other spheres. Fascinating electronics - music from a very early stage of the project later SOFTWARE. Very interesting, exciting and fascinating!
