(Morgana) Lefay always do in two ways an admirable balancing act: 1. The riffing seems alternately to modern (without being ingratiating) and immediately afterwards again traditionally, without sounding stale. 2. The band is hard (not extremely) and simultaneously melancholic / melodic, without drifting into kitsch. So you always have somehow caught between two stools and I'm not least because long-time fan of the band. The audible triggered drums do not disturb (Ok, I stand halt on something) and the decent, albeit slightly unspectacular guitar sound is well chosen. The production is perfectly fine. Here, however, are offset by 6 very significant title (cooler Groove, stomping riffs, super vocal lines, great arrangements) equal to 4 rather average pieces that dominate the second album half. Feats, however: "When Gargoyles Fly" and "What Dreams forbode". All in all not the best album of the hottest live bands in the world, but it is enough in this case, still loose for 4 stars.
