Like "Wild thyme" (another user), this story makes me think "Only silence" RJ Ellory (less good, it's true). The author has a great talent for us to depict the manners and the damaging of a small American town atmosphere: everyone knows and knows the foibles of each. The detective story really becomes secondary. Gillian Flynn describes perfectly the hypocrisy and wickedness of people in Wind Gap. I felt uncomfortable at As my reading (depressive, refrain!) And we begin to feel the emptiness of many people in this county (Camille's stepfather Alan, is a typical example: man "transparent", full of prejudice and that it would be hard to find something interesting to reveal). Poor Camille Preaker, forced to return to the places of his childhood, to cover, on behalf of a Chicago newspaper, the murders of two girls from 8-10 years: the survey (very discreet again) remains desperately without result and his editor asked to describe the atmosphere and life in Wind Gap, a task made more difficult ... there is nothing very interesting to write! Gillian Flynn is gifted as a writer, no doubt, but difficult to put 4 *, what I almost did, but its subject is bland ... and I got bored in Wind Gap as its main heroine, Camille Preaker . I think that this author deserves to be read the next story! RickN
