Then During testing I found out that the SB-700 as well as the SB-900's performance from 1 / 160s reduced (full power only up to 1 / 125s). Only the SB-700 display gaukelt a front it could flash up to 1 / 320s at full power. A call to Nikon revealed that no firmware update is available that solves the problem.
The supplied filter caps in orange and green like actually very good to me, but it lacks the transparent cap for any filters supplied with the SB-700. This part is called "SZ-3 Colour Filter Holder for SB-700" and was found by me only to US and Canadian websites (about $ 15). Calls in my photo dealer and Nikon revealed that should I buy the SJ-4 filter set for just under 40 euros because this is the transparent filter holder included (on the Niko website is even claiming included with the SB-700). The 12 filters but lack the bright orange and bright green variety which is the SB-900 in the delivery. If I want the SB-700 and SB-900 operate in parallel but both can set the same color temperature with the same filter.
The SB-700 can not be of "TTL BL" to "TTL" switch, so as the SB-600 / SB-800 / SB-900 goes. The only way the "TTL BL" is get out the changeover to Spot Metering. So as for the internal flash.
The master function can not operate and a flash in TTL a second in M, both only in TTL or both in M. It even goes to the internal flash.
When one after lighting the flash ready lamp fires immediately a flash at full power so the image is underexposed about 1 visor and reddish. But this is the SB-900 as well, but puts the short loading times something.
The display of the SB-900 is also significantly easier to read than the SB-700.
So I have the SB-700 returned and going to buy a second SB-900.
