Evil tongues say repeatedly, Rod Stewart had his best songs for his former solo albums released and then picked up the leftover with the Faces. Were the early solo albums by Rod Stewart by almost consistently high quality, which met for the Faces albums in fact not necessarily, even though the 19 songs on this CD not let this suspect. Sometimes it sounds like garage rock, but that's damn good and has, after all, also the caliber classic "Stay With Me" spawned. And Rod Stewart was at that time anyway in the form of his life!
