All ports work at first, so far even without external power supply, but this is available. I find especially nice that the plugging and unplugging of different connections works very well and all the devices work without reboot, at least in Win 7. Green light indicates that the hub is connected correctly. I have deducted because a previous model also had a power cord connection a star. Production quality is also very good with, takes no great storage space.
