Carina Evolution vs. W6 W6 5000 or 3300

Compared with the trial sewing, I found the Carina evolution better than the two W6 machines.
It is comfortable to use, Jersey sew better and offers more features.
The W6 machines, however, are processed a little more robust.

I have both the W6 3300 and the W6 5000 and the Carina Evolution ordered and then sewn sample. However, I have returned all the machines because they were not as well suited for my sewing projects. I'll save now on a Husqvarna Opal. The trial sewing the Opal from dealer has pleased me very well.

From the processing of the W6 act robust, they also are 2.5 kg heavier than the Carina.

When coil and threading the machine are much the same. I found this personally W6 slightly more complicated than the Carina. I liked the threading at the Carina better and believe that it is not so susceptible. When one hears often W6 that threading is quick break. The threading of a W6 snaps that you have to hold yourself to the Carina. This is not to forget, however, when you press the needle up-down button that threading is just in use - what has happened to me and is not as good.
Inserting the bobbin is identical with the machine. Do not forget the tightening!
The thread trimmer at the W6 5000 did not work upon delivery. After disassembling and sucking it worked then. However, not as uniform as they had hoped. For thicker materials it strikes fast and often had to press several times. I found not so good.

When the trial sewing seams in jeans, canvas and cotton were all machines well - you can not complain.
However, was better and easier to sew with the Carina Jersey.
When W6 3300 me thinner Jersey was very quickly pulled under the needle plate and screwed up - that was annoying. Here this happened not only at the beginning - here you have the threads hold on the first few centimeters or a distance from the edge to begin sewing and reverse sewing to the edge, then forward again - but also in the middle of Nähstück. Since partly helped only unscrewing the needle plate. Had even once a hole in Jersey. Here you should help the seperately for W6 3300 and acquired walking foot.
When W6 5000 the walking foot (OFT) is included in delivery. This sewing Jersey went better. But I was not really happy here. With OFT sewing curves is more difficult for me and it is even louder when sewing. Because since then as a box hanging on the needle, you can not perform the fabric so precisely and shapes.
By Carina I could Jersey sew well, although it was a very lightweight jersey. The jersey was not taken under the needle plate, the machine has not sewn and the stitches looked evenly.
I believe in the W6 the presser foot pressure is higher, thus the problems in Jersey. But I am of course not an engineer, only felt.

I personally at the Carina also better like that with her the foot pedal can be left plugged in when you sew without pedal with the keys. This could quickly during sewing take control with the foot pedal, if you need your hands to guide the fabric. In the W6 the foot pedal while sewing the buttons must be unplugged and plugged in again are sewing with foot pedal. Fast switches not possible.

From the operation, the machines are otherwise very alike: there are needle up -runter button, reverse button, speed control, start-stop button. The W6 machines do not have a turtle key to slow sewing.

Even program selection, stitch length and width are actually similar in W6 5000 and Carina.
The W6 3300 is different.
When Carina and W6 5000 to get more information on the display - it is also greater. It appears an example of the proposed presser foot, set the length and width. Here, the displays are very clear.
The display of W6 is a touch screen, where I was a bit scared but if it stays really healing in the long run (In mobile phones and iPad, there are problems with time).
Both machines have a Sewing Advisor, the one proposed by the presser foot and makes a proposal to the stitch width and length.
The W 3300 here provides only basic information. The display is so like calculators - can only display numbers and letters.

The Carina offers 11 buttonholes, the W6 5000 13 buttonholes and W6 3300 offers 4 buttonholes.

The Carina has more sewing programs - 404 sewing programs. The W6 5000 W6 3300 120 323 and the sewing programs.
The stitches are virtually identical, the Carina and W6 5000 have more decorative stitches as the 3300 and can also letters / numbers sew. Of course sewn letters and limited in size, so quite small, but good clothes to be identified by name.
However, the possible length of decorative stitches is in the larger Carina Carina mean 3 mm, 6 W often only 2.5 mm. I believe the same was true for the width, but I can no longer remember exactly here.
However, the quality of the decorative stitches is acceptable only with very solid materials or if Stickvlies is under laid with all machines. Made me very disappointed. The characters have personally annoyed me that the intermediate stitches after sewing still need to be removed manually.
Class I found that you can spiegln the decorative stitches in the Carina. This feature does not provide the W6 machines both.
Likewise, the Carina provides better stitch memory to save stitch combinations W6 3300 has not and W6 5000 has less storage options.

I for myself have found that the decorative stitches are more a gimmick that I would actually use often in practice and not actually need. As far as this point is for me then also not have been relevant.

The scope of delivery of the machines is quite similar. Most accessories are obtained in the W6 5000, here is eg also the OFT directly provided. For me, however, this point was not relevant.

I personally found the manual of Carina more clear and concise. But also the W6 machines is ok and much better than that of a Singer machine that I recently had in his hand and explains each point in 4 languages ​​and so was very confusing.

In my experience the two W6 machines were demanding the yarn. Yarn which sewed my current mechanical machine without problems, pulled continuously in both W6. Good work by the units in stock hah here with me only yarns Gütermann. The Carina has less gezickt here, but also liked a variety not-Noname yarn. W6 to sew well with Troy yarn, but I was not there. As a result, I praise this very my faithful Mechanical showing no diva airs.

As the long-term use is, I can not say.
In the test of EMT in March 2015, the Carina and the W6 5000 have almost the same cut.

If I need me enscheiden for one of these three Mashinen, I would chose the Carina. She sews better and offers more features and comfort.
But as a result, 4 stars, because it is something better.

But I was then very disturbed that none of the machines adjustable presser-foot pressure provides. I sew a lot of pockets - also made of leather and oilcloth - here me the space below the needle is too low. Had all machines with thicker layers also stitch dropouts, especially despite Microtex needle in oilcloth.
