Once here the fear bypasses that the discs are not packaged well: As written here, it was just that before. Meanwhile packaged Amazon discs absolutely OK.
But now to the actual product: the first is currently under RAID5 rebuild, and the second follows naturally only after the first disc is finished. Due to the partly bad experience with the product, I have forestalled me an additional backup drawn (one should in such work really do anyway).
Not much more I can not tell, but will update the review.
What I found interesting and perhaps can even other buyers post here: The production date of the discs.
Were my two discs (delivered on 02.09.2014) clearly on 08/01/2014 produced (Malaysia)
edit 1 (09.06.2014):
So, now, the second disc is installed and tested through its paces (in NAS: file system check, SMART long, BadBlocksScan and sometimes caused some stress). The first disc was immediately also tested again -> both error-free
Information about the system should I maybe announce sometimes:.... QNAP 569Pro including memory upgrade to 3GB - previously were 4 pc WD RED 3TB and 1 pc WD RED 4TB built - was another piece WD RED 4TB / is always as cold spare in addition to the NAS ready. Wanted to slowly change to 4TB, what I have now, of course, rejected by the appearance of 6TB discs ...
The built 4TB disc and one of the four 3TB disks are now being replaced ever. As it is written, two discs are already on the way and two more will then be followed by (one of them will then be used again as a cold spare) - First, it takes until the rebuild and the tests are done, secondly, I feel more comfortable if I each new (s) disc (s) can be observed for several days in the system and, thirdly, you get at least by the approach of a series dispersion (-> Discs from different batches).
Edit 2 (30/10/2014):
Meanwhile, I have replaced all discs on this and testing purposes pushed my cold spare the NAS and checked under stress All the best - running now have a monthly error free transmission with top values ...
edit 3 (02/02/2014):
As before, no problem: I do automated weekly small SMART test and a speed test (per disc), on a monthly basis the large SMART test and occasionally I check the file system (manual). All values / results still top / error-free!
The following details, I may add: My discs are all the type-WD60EFRX 68MYMN1 with firmware 82.00A82, but part "Product of Thailand" and part "Product of Malaysia" - differences so far I could not detect any. And even if someone here were to find a minimal performance difference - in a NAS (RAID array) is hardly no impact by ...
