The first strength of this story seems to me to be the universe which is defined very quickly, the children form the people of the "pans" ... like Peter Pan they do not want to grow up because adults them, those survived became violent and dedicate a hatred of kids, or their names: "The cyniks" those who have not become cynik are either dead or have mutated into mindless monsters, sort of obese zombie "Wolverines". This obsession has to name everything is very pleasant and attracts us very quickly in this New Worlds!
This first novel of a saga Other Worlds is far from the best, although is was he who laid the foundation of the universe I think it is one that shows the least ... more type style effect "and six months later" just seal the circles of adventure in a rather unwelcome ... Of course this novel has many flaws, it is very good child, and really seemed to me to be pruned to a teenage audience, in any case much more than the volume 2em (Malronce) which is much more dense and mature. The nature of the alteration, which I let you discover what it is in the novel, for each hero is quite risky ... I think the basic idea could have been much more thorough.
But anyway I strongly advice this novel! Despite these minor default it opens the door to a great saga that gets better directly on the 2nd volume considerably higher than the first, except it is a very fine half-tone.
