In the currently rather cold summer days, the CD is good. More specifically, the cover and the booklet, because Lil'Kim posing lived freely in the photos. Fans have been waiting for this album long. The reason why it appears only now, is obvious: Lil'Kim had to the death of her friend Notorious BIG bear before they could go into the studio's back to 100 per cent to concentrate animals to their music. The result is now "The Notorious KIM". On 18 tracks Lil'Kim practiced to perfection the femme fatale image. However, I do not know how far the women's movement still funny thing is, because actually makes Lil'Kim my opinion only what their male counterparts make in America already. Instead of "I'm Your Nigga" says stop now "I'm Your Bitch". The Emazipation goes even so far that the Lil'Kim Schowinistenschweinen zuschreit a naughty "Suck My Dick". Is (hopefully) not really meant seriously. To present itself as a strong and emancipated woman, you can certainly be different (see and hear Kelis). Anyway, at Lil'Kim rape and flows is nothing wrong per se. The more I hear, however, good German beats, the more go with the BadBoy / Puff Daddy beats on the bag! Somehow that sounds for me not to HipHop with heart and soul, but rather by "Tony Cottura-HipHop-Beats with eJay-made". Commodity halt! That is why "The Notorious KIM" Unfortunately the whole, fairly flat fall. Of course there are positive exceptions, most notably the very personal and emotional piece of "Hold On" (feat. Mary J. Blige), in which Kim recalls Notorious BIG what their hard audible. After the first three numbers I had also hoped that Puffy had just delivered a good production work, but at the latest after the 5th track go me the beats of "The Notorious KIM" quite on the nerves. Pity, because Lil'Kim convinces not only by their appearance but also by their rape and flows. My tip for the next album is therefore: New producers are looking for! People like Common, Mos Def Dilated Peoples or prove so, that there are also innovative East Coast hip hop.
