Customer Review

How should a review for this only look to be on the one hand the formation Faun and your previous publications and do justice to the other, to evaluate this product as objectively as possible? Rarely me a statement is so hard like in this case. So this trial is only a fine line.

Faun as a band
At Faun as a band you do not say much, and the few, at least on my part, very positive. Everyone in the group is a full-blooded musician who knows his (s) instrument (s) almost perfectly. This can be any experience first hand on one of the see- and worth listening to concerts. Faun is not just (but especially here) acoustically a pleasure, they do it masterfully classical musical instruments with electronic instruments (eg synthesizers) to link. The lyrics are very spiritual in nature and want to be downright researched and explored what I unfortunately often lack the time. In addition, they were for me a tower of strength ", which for me means I was able to rely on the quality and a certain constancy in the music. I will not say here Faun had not evolved or developed new well. Each album has its own priorities, accents, strengths and weaknesses. But it was above all a soul, and a soul endures. Here I propose to bow to the CD of the same ".

CD From the Elves ".
Previous releases had clearly exhibited an affinity with the classical art song for me. Lyrical texts were underlaid wonderfully musical. However, there were also instrumental pieces that invited to a journey into their own imagination. All this does not exist in this CD, or only very limited. Both the lyrics and the melodies were adapted to a less demanding public and are more catchy and invite more for a sing-along, because empathize or to reflect. With few exceptions (for example, "From the same" and "Andoro II") is everywhere arbitrariness, interchangeability and mass appeal to be felt. The term pop-pop "hits pretty much on. Hence the rather negative evaluation with two stars. More me is all this not worth it.

WHAT MAKES FAUN DA?
The trend towards the ground is not new but legitimate for the group - everyone wants to have a piece of the pie from. And just as it is legitimate to maintain our good money and the music of our fans that we expect. And here we must consider what we want and do. Having stayed a few times with different groups (eg Schandmaul, Wolf Moon, Dunkelschön, Blackmore's Night and most recently Dead Can Dance) has been my experience that in fact not every work is a work of art and I my money for another irrelevance, which it wants are on the music market crowds, spend, I'll wait and buy only when I'm sure I want to have the CD in my shelf and I also hear more than just once.
Unfortunately, the debate on the further course of this band is very emotional. Sure it's disappointing when you change the groups were, regarded as "rock solid" and that was still the way it never expected. That's unfortunately do what Faun here, they sell everything what they once stood, are arbitrary, interchangeable and, at best, slightly better than the average pop / Schlagerwust to there to hear everywhere. And yet, it's your decision, just as we decide for or against the purchase of their Phonograms. Even though I myself am more than concerned as a fan of the group Faun, I treat them all now expect. Both in the one and in the other direction.
