Stylish, powerful, elegant and individually - more than just a technical update!

Since today the latest and improved version of the Nintendo 3DS is commercially available. Through the Ambassador program I have since a few weeks already a NEW 3DS in use. The question that came up was: Is it only a marginal update or a real improvement compared to the direct predecessor?
In my opinion it is the best ever and highest quality handheld made by Nintendo.

3D Display:

The most important feature of the 3DS is known to be 3D screen that without additional accessories (3D glasses) works. Here Nintendo has achieved significantly compared to the old 3DS improvements. The display is sharper, the 3D effect more intense. But above all stands out the proper representation of the effect. There is no longer the silhouettes that still the old 3DS occurred if you have the console easily moved. Nintendo has installed next to the camera a small sensor that tracks your gaze and so the 3D effect adjusts absolutely liquid. This change will not be noticed in the flow of the game and did not disturb. The screen has become a little bigger compared to the original version, but so crisp in the presentation.

Design and feel:

Even the design Nintendo has fortunately worked properly. The corners are rounded and flatter in hand. The power switch was placed at the bottom edge and for me the best change, the speaker controls placed to the left of 3D display. I have always been disturbed it that he was on the lower side and one has turned so accidentally it. Start and Select buttons have shrunk considerably and are now left of the touch screen. In addition to the shoulder buttons, two buttons were been installed, which allow a more complex control for future games, also new is a second, smaller, but tailor-made embroidery, placed over the buttons.
My personal design highlight, in addition to the much improved screen of the 3DS NEW buttons are per se. They are arranged in the classic Nintendo Button colors and such a nice little throwback to the old SNES times. Just great!
On the whole, the NEW 3DS is visually and haptically easily significantly higher quality than its predecessors! He is great in the hand and has a pleasant feeling on the material used.

Must it be ?: XL

No! The smaller version of the NEW 3DS is in my opinion better than the large version, especially since the display is by the, in comparison, smaller screen in a noticeably sharper picture. Both versions have indeed the same resolution, which at the XL variant, the image is stretched.
In addition, you can use the New 3DS XL compared to his brother so-called face-plates to change the exterior design, as one pleases. Post 3DS lend a personal touch to her your NEW.

Is it worth the change from old to new? In my opinion, definitely! Significantly better 3D effect meaningful improvements in the design and the buttons. And additional computing power for faster loading times. Just a great console, the 3D really brings joy. The change from the old to the new 3DS For gamers, there is even the possibility to transfer the complete data. So nothing is lost, especially not the eShop games. Just awesome :-)
