Although much reminiscent of that time on solo songs of Phil Collins, as the songs were written at least mainly in the collective. For example, was "Mama" from an eternal Session, which is even sprung the text. Anyone interested can yes times like to listen to the box set of 2000, as you can hear 10 minutes of the session.
Since "Mama", "That's All" and "Home By The Sea" have been highlighted on several occasions, I want to devote myself to this point the song "Silver Rainbow" and "Just A Job To Do". The former song lives on a beautiful chorus, worked on the very long is (similar to "No Son Of Mine" from 1991). The somewhat artificial drums that are frequently used on this album, are particularly suitable for my understanding of this piece.
"Just A Job To Do", although certainly not the song, I'm thinking, when I talk about my favorite band. However, I like him, because it neither previously gave a similar song even at a later date. I first heard it as a child as background music in a crime series (I think it was "Cops") and was immediately in love, because he so much to Seventies pop sounds (especially because of the funky bass and drums) , have not exactly made the Genesis time.
"Illegal Alien", although in fact a bit silly (as has already been noted above once), but this song I like. The sound shreds before the onset of drums at the beginning strongly reminiscent of a constantly repeated in Part lengthy song "The Planets" by "Flaming Youth" (Phil Collins first volume, 1969). I would imagine that Phil Collins this Part deliberately implanted and has therefore deliberately interpreted ironically on the grave of his short-term band ...
"Takin It All Too Hard" and "It's Gonna Get Better" are two rather inconsequential pieces, one so powerful album also needs the occasional haven.
Sound-wise the album is absolutely all of a piece and I am very pleased that there is this masterpiece. Who does not buy, it is to please at least steal!
